KATRINA ELISE NORWOOD
basic information;
full name: katrina elise norwood; real name: danielle marie danforth
nicknames: katie
age: eighteen
grade: senior
gender: female
sexuality: straight
their inner beauty;
personality:
Katie’s reputation is for being the sporty girl. She is the star of the girl’s swimming and volleyball team, so a lot of people just know who she is. Even though she has been told many times by Witness Protection that she can’t draw attention to herself, her natural athletic ability has made her the star. Along with stardom comes publicity, which Katie isn’t so fond of; she’s not shy by any means, just modest. Her modesty has, in the past, kept her from receiving compliments. This is too bad really, because Katie is a beautiful girl, inside and out. Smart, too.
The straight As is what has Katie on her sports teams all her life. Even before she got to high school, her parents made her keep good grades or they wouldn’t let her play. Therefore, she has always worked very hard in school to keep her marks up because she loved her game so much. But, despite her straight As since nursery school, Katie is a blonde. She tends to be a bit ditzy. Yes, she could tell you the square root of pi without thinking, but she once asked her friends if Chicken By the Sea was made from chicken or fish. Sadly, she was serious.
Despite her flaws of extreme modesty and ditziness, Katie is loved by her friends because of her ability to listen well. There are many people who pride themselves in being great listeners, but few can actually do it well. It takes a person who has been through a lot to know that everyone really needs someone to listen to what someone else’s problems are. The people that listen well are also great at giving words of wisdom, whether they know it or not.
Katie is a sucker for love. If any guy calls her beautiful, she denies it and then goes weak at the knees. It’s the way she has always been about love. Love always gets to her, no matter what. She cries in books anytime the girl doesn’t get the guy in movies, and she cries in movies either way.

appearance: The first thing that people notice about Katie is her naturally curly hair. Tight curls, all over the place. Katie doesn’t particularly like this, but she deals with it. If she has the time she’ll flat iron it, but there is only a very rare occasion where there is enough time. Therefore, mostly, she works with the curls. Katie usually tries to get them to frame her green eyes and accentuate her cute dimples, but tends to fail miserably. After getting extremely frustrated, she may opt to wear her hair in a ponytail.
Make-up isn’t a big thing to Katie. Yeah, she wears it, but she doesn’t pack it on. Just a little neutral eyeshadow, black eyeliner, and black mascara. This helps to show off her green eyes. If she was particularly rushed, tired, or had a breakout that morning, you can find her wearing a little bit of foundation to cover up any unwanted blemishes, although they are rare on her smooth olive skin. The only piercing Katie has is her earlobes; she’s too much of a wimp to do anything else. One time, Mallory had the needle touching Katie’s naval, and Katie freaked out and told Mallory she couldn’t do it.
Katie Norwood’s style is sporty, mostly consisting of sweatpants and t-shirts. She will wear the occasional dress, but she most definitely will not be comfortable. Her favorite t-shirt is an old one of her mother’s which reads, “If you smile, I’ll smile.” It was her mother’s favorite, too, and Katie refused to let go of it after her death and was overjoyed when she finally fit into it.

history:
It all started February 18, 1990 in San Diego, California when Angelina and Nicholas Danforth welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Danielle Marie. The baby was their pride and joy, simply because there had been complications during the birth, requiring Angie to have an emergency hysterectomy. As it ended up, Dani was the couple’s only child, therefore mandating that she be spoiled rotten with attention. The baby grew very attached to her mother and father both, but was particularly partial to her mother. Young Dani was constantly in her mother’s loving arms while she tended to the house, and Nick rarely got any alone time with the baby.
As Dani grew older, she grew closer to her father. They began to do everything together; get ice cream, go to baseball games, watch movies, and this drew a tension between Dani and Angie. If Angie ever wanted to do something, Dani was always already doing something with her father. This broke Angie’s heart, but she did a good job in covering it up. Angie decided that it would be best to things as a family instead of trying to steal Dani from her father. So, Angie began joining Dani and Nick on their outings, and became a real family again.
One chilly night in December when the family was out shopping, Nick and Dani, sharing the particularly dominant sweet tooth, decided to go for ice cream. Angie insisted they go; she would come get them when she was finished. Dani and Nick sat in Ben & Jerry’s, eating their ice cream, when Dani saw her mother coming out of the store. A man in his mid-twenties with blonde hair approached Angie, and Dani grew leery. She pointed this man out to Nick, who rose out of his chair right as a shot was fired. Angie fell to the ground, causing Nick and Dani to run out of Ben & Jerry’s as fast as ever. A slick black car drove past as Nick hovered over his dying wife, and Dani saw the look on the man’s face as one of pure and utter fear.
Dani was crushed. All she could remember was the man’s face of fear. One normal day, about two weeks after her mother died, she saw the man again outside her highschool. It paralyzed her. She felt a mix of fury and fear at the same time, and didn’t know how to react. A part of her was scared stiff, and the other part wanted to jump on him and rip him to pieces. Then, her father’s horn brought her back to reality. She got in the car with Nick, and Dani realized the man was following them home. This was brought to Nick’s attention, and he called the police. They said they would keep a watch on the house. The next day, Saturday, Nick and Dani were at home watching the football game, and there was a knock on the door. Since Nick was obviously more into the game, Dani decided it would be best she get it. She did, and soon enough she stood face to face with a cop. “Dani?” “Yeah,” she answered. “I’m Officer Jack. You need to leave town now.”
It turned out that the cops had seen Angie’s killer, but hadn’t been able to catch him. The fact that he knew where they lived gave them the right to be covered under the Witness Protection Program, so they were placed there with the names James Michael Norwood and Katrina Elise Norwood. They moved across the country to Belmar, NJ two years ago, but Katie still worries that someday the killer will find her and her father. “No matter what,” they’ve been instructed, “you can’t tell anyone who you really are. And more importantly, you can never go back to San Diego. Ever.” What hurts the Katie the most though, isn’t that she can’t go back to San Diego. It’s the fact that she’s living a lie. The Program gave them whole new identities. Histories, where they came from, what happened to Katie’s mom, names. It’s all a lie.
