If the Great White was the most happening place in Dayton, well... Dayton was seriously boring. Jenny shot a smile at the bouncer at the entrance- why, exactly, there was a bouncer for a teen club, she had no idea- it wasn't like he checked IDs- and he stepped aside to let her in. She glanced back at the line of people that she'd skipped, a few of whom had annoyance written all over their faces. No one said anything, though- they all knew better. Until Marilyn Dayton herself showed up, they knew, Jenny Ellison was the closest they were going to get to the top. And if Jenny Ellison had to wait in line, she'd leave. And if she left... well, where would that leave them? Nowhere.
She'd piled her blonde curls up into sort of a messy ponytail, and had been pleased when she'd looked in the mirror to see the way a few loose tendrils hung around her face. Her skirt was white and not so short as to be indecent, which seemed to differentiate her from most of the other girls in the club. She wasn't wearing skintight jeans and you couldn't see her butt if she leaned over, while every other female in the room... was. She didn't need skirts the size of a postage stamp, though- not really. Jenny's legs were practically her best feature, the way they were long and tan and shapely. In spite of the length of her skirt, she could feel eyes on her as she crossed the room, heading towards the bar and plopping onto one of the barstools. After ordering a mango juice and leaning in conspiratorially to the bartender- male, of course- and telling him that she wouldn't mind a splash of something extra, if he could come up with it- she leaned back, toying with one of the bell sleeves on her floaty peasant top. It was blue and the fabric was some sort of sheer floaty stuff, Jenny wasn't entirely sure what it was called. Marilyn did, she was sure, but she was sort of... ticked off, at Marilyn. She hadn't told her that she liked Levi. Jenny wondered, though, how many other people knew. Gossip girl didn't just make stuff up. And Astrid had known, and apparently that Rosalie girl... but Jenny hadn't. And Marilyn still hadn't called to confirm or deny the rumors. So Jenny was going to wait her out.
Maybe that was part of the reason she'd called Jack- to get back at Marilyn. Or maybe she just missed him, she hadn't seen him in ages. Or maybe she thought he'd be upset and saw this as an opportunity to make her own move. Whatever the reason, Jenny had dialed her phone and had asked Jack to meet her here. No doubt he'd skip the line too- he was just as well-respected as Jenny was, and the entirety of the Sharks and Sharkettes just... didn't do lines. Or waiting, or anything even close. The bartender returned with her drink and Jenny took a sip, glancing up at the guy who was looming over her, waiting to see if she was satisfied with the drink he'd mixed. "Vodka?" she asked, eyebrow raised. "Nice. Thanks."

He walked up the the great white and saw the long line. He did not like to wait in lines and was so glad that he did not have to. Sharks never had to wait in line for anything whatsoever. They were the elite of the school and were enviened by everyone in the school. They were always surrounded by people, especially girls. Those girls knew that if they could get a good word from a shark that they may have a chance to become a sharkette. They also knew that if they could get a good word from Jack Valmont that they have in the bag. He had never done that before though. He had been shocked to get the phone call from jenny. Jenny was his girlfriend's best friend. Not only that jenny was his crush. He had the girlfriend that every guy in the school wanted and he was not happy. He was the luckest guy in the whole school and he did not like it. He liked jenny and was more than happy when he recieved her phone call to meet her at the great white. He walked into the great white and scanned the room. He noticed that the room was full of people most of them he did not know. He did know at least one person that was leanning up against a bar. It was the person he was here to meet, jenny. He walked up her and flashed a smile at her. He looked up and down the bar before speaking to her. He saw the bartender at the end of the bar. He tapped his hand on the bar and the bartender raised a hand in symbol for him to wait a second. He did not like to wait so he tapped again. The bartender waved at him to wait and he actually did so this time. He looked at jenny who was enjoying her drink. He looked back up and the bartended had finally arrived.
"Hey can you get me a strong drink and get this young lady another of whatever she is drinking."
He looked again around the room and saw the room full of people. He saw lots of people on the dance floor dancing the night away and was happy in this atmosphere. He had nice company and was courious on why jenny had called him all of a sudden asking him to be here. Of course he agreeded as soon as he heard her inventation. He agreed because she was his girlfriends bestfriend. That was just his cover story though. I really liked jenny and wanted to see her. He had not seen her in a long time. He was just happy to be in her presence no matter what the condidtions were at the moment. He reached for his drink and hers. He handed the refill to jenny and took a sip of his own drink enjoying it.
"Hello jenny, Whats up"

Jenny glanced up when Jack came in, a smile spreading over her face before she even realized what was happening. "Hey," she said, leaning over and pressing a kiss to his cheek in greeting. She grinned when he ordered his drink 'something strong', that made her giggle- and when he asked for another one of hers. It was considerate, a gesture that not many guys would make. Jack Valmont, though, she supposed, was not many guys. He was probably the only one like him out there, actually. "I'm glad you could make it."
The bartender returned with their drinks and Jenny finished her first one, pushing the empty glass across the bar to the waiting hands of the bartender, who took it and tossed it haphazardly towards the sink. Jenny took a second to wonder why it didn't break but dismissed it when she realized Jack was speaking. He asked her what was up, and her face took on a somber expression. Did he not know? Well, actually, he definitely didn't know why she'd invited him out, because Jenny didn't know herself, but the main reason- the catalyst, really- was the gossip girl post. Then again, she realized, Jack probably didn't read gossip girl. If she wrote about Jenny half as often as she did about Jack, she probably wouldn't either. Still.. he was bound to find out, sooner or later, wasn't he? Jenny had to tell him, she knew he did. Now all that was left was figuring out the most humane way to do it.
She leaned over, putting a gentle hand on Jack's sleeve. "Did you see it?" she asked, even though she was nearly positive what his answer would be. "Gossip girl," she clarified. "Posted a new article this morning." She turned her attention to her drink, toying with the straw. "Good news and bad news," she decided to say, going with the age-old approach of good news first, trying to soften the blow. "She didn't mention you. Or me, for that matter. But..." she trailed off. This, she thought, was horrible. Especially since Jenny had no idea whether or not the rumor was true- but she had the horrible, sinking suspicion that it was. Otherwise, she was sure, Marilyn would have called her right away, furious and demanding that Jenny find out who this Gossip Girl character was and bring her to her knees. "She did," she said, finally, "post about Marilyn. A little." She glanced over at Jack as if to gage his reaction. She really, really didn't want this to hurt him. And she was pretty sure that it wasn't just because he was her friend. Damn. She was completely crushing on Jack Valmont, just like every other girl at school. Except this time... this time, he was dating her best friend. "Apparently," she said, drawing the word out into several syllables, "Marilyn likes Levi. Or, I guess, is falling in love with him or something like that was what she said." [/font][/blockquote][/blockquote]

He took another sip of the strong drink he had ordered and glanced around the club. It was still jam packed full of people and there were still more students pouring in the doors by the minute. He was think about how all these people were most likely there to meet friends and meet there dates and he just fathomed that for a few minutes. He just thought of all the people that are doing the same thing he was doing but so many that were not. He then came out of his stupor to hear jenny mention gossip girl. He never read that piece of trash. He had more than enough drama in his own life that he did not need to add other peoples drama to the large mountain that was always growing and adding to his plate. He could tell though that it was going to grow again. It has been a bit quiet in the drama department for him and he knew what goes around comes around. Drama has gone around and knew it was a matter of time before it is back to bite him again. His ears picked again when she spoke again about gossip girl. He knew that jenny would not call him to meet her down here at the great white to have a light conversation about gossip girl. So he just waited for her to continue, he knew the important stuff would come out eventually. He went over what she had said in his head. At first she had said "Did you see it" That had stumped him. "See what" he had thought. There was a lot to see in the world and that could mean alot in this world. He said to that See what. She came around and answered by bringing up that gossip hog, gossip girl. He knew that her gossip rag had come out today. That is all anybody talked about today. He knew that he needed to read it but didn't. Everybody that is anybody read that thing inorder to keep up with the school news. Everbody that is anybody except him. He did not have to read it anyway to keep up. His friends and girlfriend read it and talked about it all day so he found out everything from listening to them. He had decieded that maybe he should read it to get the first hand on it but just had not done it just yet. When jenny said "There is good news and bad news" his heart sank. He just had a feeling that his nondramatic current exsistence was about to end. He knew it would not last and this was the end off it. He was wondering what the bad news was and hoped it was not to bad. Then she said "She did not mention you" he sighed with relief. That would mean that he was off the drama radar for a small bit longer. Then jenny said "post about Marilyn. A little" he took a deep breath and held it. That meant that he would be on the radar just worse because he would be the secondary and gossip girls favorite subject was relationships and Marulyn was his girlfriend. He would be potrayed as a relationship victem though. He was curious what gossip girl had said about Marilyn and listened to jenny more intently this time then he had previously. Jenny then drew out the next part like she was afraid of how he would react to it. She had said "Marilyn likes Levi. Or, I guess, is falling in love with him or something like that was what she said.". He sat there stunned after that revelation. No wonder no one had gone into detail of the post with him has they had done in the past. He was wondering if it was true or not. He did not know how to respond to that at all. There is so many ways to respond that it is redicules. Even though he did not read gossip girls posts they did have a streak of being pretty right on most stuff. He still wondered if she was right, if she was right then it would be pretty hard on him. After all it was his girlfriend and his best friend. He looked at jenny with wondering eyes and flashed her a weak smile. A couple minutes later he responded to the news. "Jenny, do you think its true. You are Marilyn's best friend after all."

Jenny watched Jack carefully for a moment while he sipped his drink and looked around the club, familiar with this game. Jack liked to play the strong silent type sometimes, and she knew better than to interrupt him while he was brooding. So she sat silently, following his gaze out onto the dance floor. She couldn't wait anymore and so she finally blurted out a mention of gossip girl, which seemed to snap Jack out of his strong silent type brood, and he looked at her.
For a second, Jenny wasn't sure she was doing the right thing. The look on his face... especially as her mouth continued on without her mind, telling him that there was good news and bad news... he already looked hurt, and she hadn't even come out with the important news yet. In her mind, she decided to abort the mission, to shut her mouth right now, to tell him that the post had been stupid and useless and not to bother looking at it or even mentioning it to anyone, and if he heard someone talking about it he should stop listening right away, that it would poison his mind. Unfortunately, her mouth rarely, if ever, listened to her brain, and it was already off on it's merry way, telling Jack all about the post. Shit.
When she finally shut up- finally- she sat in subdued silence, waiting for Jack's reaction. It took a minute, and Jenny would have given anything she had in that minute to wipe the look off of Jack's face, especially knowing that she had been the one to put it there. He asked if it was true, and Jenny's heart sort of shattered into a million pieces. Truth was, she didn't know. She hadn't heard one way or the other from Marilyn herself, and Jenny tried to take everything Gossip Girl said with a grain of salt- even if she was eerily dead-on most times. "Nah," she said finally, after taking a sip of her drink. "Why would it be? Marilyn has no reason to be anything but madly in love with you," she told him, wondering even as she said it why she was saying this. She liked Jack. All she had to do- she could tell from the look on his face- was to say that yeah, it was true, and things between Marilyn and him would be over. But she couldn't. She just couldn't do it.
When it all came down to it, she decided, what Jenny really wanted was for Jack to be happy. And being with Marilyn made him happy, at the moment. And, besides, it made Marilyn happy. "You're perfect," she continued, "you'd do anything for her, and she knows that. Don't worry about it."
