Cory took a breath as he knocked on the door of Stephanie's dorm room. He wasn't sure if he should continue with this. Maybe he should just dart, there was time and he was a quick runner. That's why he was a runningback, he could sprint right through those doors and never come back. But his feet were cemented to the floor. He glanced down the hall to find another guy glancing around, but he seemed nervous. He smiled anxiously at Cory, he nodded his head back and smiled, "Dude, relax, take a deep breath. It'll be cool," The guy grimaced, he was quite nervous, "Thanks, man," He stared back at his date's door. So Cory, naturally stared back at his own date's door. He began to feel a bit nervous himself, what if Stephanie asked him what else he was good at because she heard about what Cory really was? He shook his head, as he glanced down at the ground. His attention was grabbed by a door creaking open, he jumped up, but only to find that it was the guy who was waiting down the hall. Cory peeked at who it was, then quickly glanced away when he saw it was a girl who had more than fallen for Cory a few months ago. He hid his face from her, hoping she wouldn't notice. She didn't want her to tell Stephanie how awful he was, or anything in that nature. And she would do it. He head a door slam, guessing it was the exit to the dorms. He relaxed, at least that's over. Now for the hard stuff. The door began to open, he put on a smile, he seemed like he was overdressed, but not for what he had planned. Cory had never really gone over the top for any girl, but he felt like this was a time to try things out. He was wearing a black suit, no tie or bow, but he still looked pretty good. He hoped she wouldn't feel too awkward when she saw him. "Hey Stephanie," He greeted as he looked at her and what she was wearing, "You look... Wow, gorgeous." He was really starstruck at that moment, it sounded sincere and it was. That was a step up from Cory. He grabbed her hand, putting it perfectly in his, "Shall we?"
He began to walk, she was a bit shorter than him, but it wasn't uncomfortable to keep their hands intertwined as they walked. He took a deep breath, he was a bit nervous on how this would turn out. He was never the guy who was romantic. He was going out on a limb tonight. He hit the unlock button on his car, a 2008 Dodge Charger. He opened the passenger's side door. He smiled at her, "My lady," he played around a little, not everything had to be a serious moment? He closed her door after she got in. He walked around to his side, opening the door and getting in. Putting his seltbelt on, and shutting his door. "I don't think you two have met, Stephanie, this is Marie," Cory leaned towards Stephanie, "But shhh, she doesn't know I'm on a date with you, she thinks you're my cousin..." Cory nodded as if to say, 'Yeah, it's true,' as he turned the car on and throwing it in reverse. He put it back in drive and drove off. "Just kidding, but I did name my car, Marie. You can laugh, everyone else does," Cory forced a laugh, he did get a lot for naming his car...
When they got to Casablanca, he parked in the closest spot he could. He turned his car off, she was probably thinking, 'you're dressed up for this place?' but she didn't know what was happening. He got out and went around, opening the door for Stephanie. He grabbed her hand again, "I promise I'm going to pay attention to you and not to the games," He was kidding, he wasn't going to be able to see them from where they would be sitting anyways. Cory let go of her hand, opening the door for Stephanie as she stepped through. He walked up to the hostess, "It's under 'JOHNSON', Cory, we spoke on the phone earlier?" The hostess nodded as she began to smile, then looked at Stephanie like she was the luckiest bitch in the world. "This way..." She led the way to a back room, it was faced towards the ocean, and there was only one table in the room. It had a vase in the middle of it, red roses stood happily in it, "Your waitress will be Mel tonight, enjoy," the hostess informed as she put the menus down and walked out. Cory pulled out Stephanie's chair, letting her sit down and pushing it in easily. He walked over to his chair and sat down, "Bet you weren't expecting that when you saw we were going to a sports bar," Cory smiled and giggled a bit. There was a lot more that Stephanie didn't know about, and he hoped that she would like what he was doing... That's all he could do.

Stephanie had barely spoken. She was so excited and nervous, she didn't know what to say. The only time she had said something or laughed was when Cory said something funny, charming, or had asked her a question. It was amazing how long it had taken her to get ready simply because she was going to see Cory. He was such a gentlemen! They way he opened the door for her and pushed her chair in when they got to the table, which was gorgeous, it was so sweet of him.
"Yeah, I wasn't expecting this," she admitted. "But it's really pretty," Stephanie said honestly, looking around. It truly was. The view of the ocean was amazing, and as simple as the table was, it looked amazing, too. Stephanie looked around once more, trying to think of something to say. She was just so... quiet. She didn't want him to think that she didn't like it. Stephanie really didn't like it, she loved it. She decided it would be better to be straight forward and honest. "You know, I really do know what to say," she said sounding a bit comical.
"I'm really not that good at making conversation, because I talk too much, so I barely let anyone else talk." Stephanie said, nodding. "But, I babble a lot too... which I'm doing right now," she said groaning. "I need to stop doing that, it must get really annoying," Stephanie said, looking at Cory as if she felt bad for him. She really did feel sympathetic. Stephanie had no idea how he would put up with her constant babbling and pointless conversation.
"I don't know how you'll put up with me tonight, because you'll be hearing a lot of pointless stuff," she said tilting her head to one side. A sign of total distraction. Stephanie decided to end the discussion about her babbling before she started doing it again. The longer she talked about it, the more she babbled on about pointless things. "Okay, so, like I said, I'm really bad about starting conversation. So can you start it?" she asked, totally serious, although her request sounded funny, once again.
Stephanie's eyes wandered around the room quickly. It was just so pretty. Stephanie really hadn't been expecting it when Cory had pulled her into the sports bar. She'd been in here once, but she had left soon after. It just wasn't a place where she liked to be. But this was a lot nicer than the rest of the bar. It was so different, and Stephanie loved it. When they first walked into the room, she was shocked. In a good way, of course, but still very shocked. She had been expecting something totally different, but she was glad they were here instead of somewhere else.
Her eyes stopped wandering around the room, and returned her attention to Cory. Her anxiousness had melted away, maybe a good babble was all she needed.
