Marilyn could feel her heart racing as she leaned against the wall in her dorm room. She sighed, trying to gather herself, or "pull herself together". Everyone says Jack is so perfect, Jack is this, and Jack is that. Jack isn't Levi. But what was it that Marilyn saw in Levi that made her feel this way? She felt like there was no one else around but him when they hung out. She wondered if Jack ever caught onto it, that when Levi tagged along she watched him walk away with other girls and hardly heard a word he said. Sometimes Marilyn wished she was with Levi, but also being best friends with him, she knew that it was not possible. Levi was a ladies man, and he could never settle for just one girl. He couldn't settle for one, it had to be multiple. There was something inside her, sad enough, that wanted him, and it wouldn't leave her alone.
Marilyn released her weight from the wall, she wanted to talk to Jenny about it. Marilyn slowly walked towards the door, although Jenny and Marilyn had seperate rooms, they had rooms that were close to eachother. She opened the door and took a deep breath as she went through, she didn't know what Jenny would say, or what she would think. All she really knew was she needed Jenny's support right now. Marilyn shut the door behind her, letting it make a loud slamming noise, she didn't care who wondered who slammed their door so loud. She didn't care if someone came out to see who it was. She just couldn't even believe how she was falling to pieces like this, this Rosalie girl beat her at her own game, for one. The girl read a private conversation that was supposed to be only between her older brother, Bryan. Then, there was the fact that she was falling for some guy who wouldn't care.
Marilyn pounded on Jenny's door, she was beginning to think she wasn't going to be able to hold back the tears anymore. Marilyn felt it starting to come, she swallowed and tried to keep her tears in a bit longer. Not only was all of the above happening, but she lied to Jenny at first about whether or not she had feelings for Levi. Of couse, she knew she could trust Jenny completely, but Jenny was also friends with Astrid, who just so happened to be head over heels for Levi just as much as Marilyn was. Marilyn managed to speak a few words without cracking her voice too much, "J, it's me, I need to talk to you, it's important," Marilyn felt a tiny tear fall, she wiped it quickly. Thank god for waterproof masquera.
Marilyn didn't know if Jenny would judge her by this, obviously she wouldn't approve of Levi like Marilyn didn't approve of Brandon. She started to take long deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. She didn't understand until this moment that she had been going crazy over this so-called innocent crush slowly over the years, and now was the time that she was finally broken. There was no doubt that Marilyn would have to break-up with Jack for the mere fact that her heart wasn't all in it. She felt her hand begin to shake nervously as she wiped another tear shed off her cheek. As much as she would like to think all of this would get better, she knew it was going to get a hell of a lot worse first.
