sweet
Ask anyone, and they'll tell you- Jenny Ellison is a sweetheart. Granted, she hangs with the sharkettes and they tend to err on the side of bitchy, but Jenny likes to think of herself as different. Odds are, she's not. Generally she gets what she wants, and everyone knows that in a world like this one- at a school like Dayton- it's almost impossible, if not completely impossible, to get what you want without a little manipulation. Maybe Jenny is genuinely nice, maybe she's just manipulative. Either way, people tend to be happy with her and think of her as a nice girl. As long as they're happy, and she's happy- and she is- no one can really complain about anything.
Conniving
It wouldn't be entirely out of the ordinary, at Dayton Academy, for someone to lie and cheat and manipulate to get what they want. Jenny likes to think of herself as the exception to that rule. She's proud of the fact that she hasn't had to stoop very low to obtain anything yet. However, she's not entirely above lying- not at all. In fact, she's incredibly good at it. Ever since she was born, practically, she's been lying- sometimes, it feels so close to the real thing that it genuinely doesn't bother her anymore. Call it effective, call it dishonest, call it conniving. Jenny really and honestly doesn't care.
Flaky
It isn't, exactly, that Jenny is a ditz. She's not- she's actually pretty bright. She just has a hard time actually committing to anything- and that includes committing anything to memory as well. She doesn't really like letting people down, so she just doesn't make plans in advance. She's easily impressed and generally pretty easily swayed, so she tends to wander off if something catches her attention and she deems it worthy of her time- which, at first glance, she does most things. Planning just isn't her forte, and because she has gone so long without doing any thinking ahead of time, if she does make plans now, she tends to forget them by the time it was time to actually go through with them anyway.

appearance: Jenny is, whether she enjoys it or not, pretty. In fact, people have called her gorgeous, a few going so far as to call her beautiful. She'd blush at that, though, and tell you you were crazy- the attractive one in her family, she'd tell you, is really her brother Tyler, but she's pretty sure he dyes his hair. But... Jenny? No, she's practically at the bottom of the list. Her entire family is disgustingly good looking.
She's tall- almost 5'11- and although she eats constantly, she manages to stay relatively slim, thanks largely to cheerleading. It's a good thing, too, because her body, much to her chargrin, is the thing she gets complimented on the most. Apparently, she has 'legs that go to Canada', or something along those lines. Whatever that means.
When it comes to style, though... well, contrary to popular belief, Jenny simply doesn't care. Sure, occasionally she'll rifle through her closet and look for something cute to wear. On, like, picture day. She loves to shop- what female doesn't? But she doesn't plan for particular outfits and usually when she puts a cute one together, it's an accident. Usually, though, she's in shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Jenny's from Florida, and is completely unused to bracing winters and chilly fall. Her theory is why not enjoy the changing season that the North provides? She doesn't understand sweating it out in jeans when you know it's going to be hot outside- and neither does she believe in freezing to wear shorts. So Jenny wears what's comfortable.

history:
Jenny definitely didn't grow up unhappy. In fact, she grew up completely content. Her parents didn't fight, she got along with her brother, and they all genuinely enjoyed spending time together. They were one of those disgustingly attractive, disgustingly happy families. And they stayed that way, for ages. She honestly couldn't look back at her life and think of one time when she'd been honestly unhappy, especially not about her family. Up until she was almost fourteen, she had been completely and totally happy. She had been, she realizes now, ignorant.
Everything changed the summer after she turned fourteen. Jenny and her brother had been sat down in the middle of the afternoon one Saturday, and her parents had explained that while they both loved them each very much but they simply didn't love each other. Both Jenny and Tyler had reeled over that for a few weeks, but ultimately, it had been okay. They'd stayed with their mother in the same house they grew up in, and, briefly, their father had moved into one of their rental houses just a few streets away. Jenny and Tyler had, of course, expected for their father- or their mother, it didn't matter- to move on, eventually. They were both attractive and successful people, so it wouldn't have surprised them if, a few months later, one of their parents moved on and moved out. However, when, a month and a half after the announcement and four weeks after the divorce was finalized and their mother announced that he had found someone else, it came as a bit of a shock.
Even more of a shock, though, was when the siblings went to visit their father for the first time since after he'd moved out to meet his new mate. Hardly a wife or a fiance, both children were shell shocked to meet, over Christmas dinner, no less, a man. Their father, they realized quickly, was gay. And it wasn't that Jenny had a problem with homosexuals- she really didn't. But he... he was her dad. He shouldn't be gay. Jenny had quickly regained her momentum, leaving her home for boarding school, trying as hard as she could not to look back. For a year, she'd been completely insane. She'd stuck to herself, she'd stayed quiet. It had been a completely mind-altering experience, coming home to find a man in her father's bed- figuratively, thank god- and then moving to a different part of the country full-time to go to school. Jenny had, to say the least, changed.
Instead of letting the changes take her over, though, Jenny managed to find herself again. In fact, once she was back to her old self, she was even more... Jenny. She was more like herself than she had been before, but she couldn't quite explain it. She just was. She made friends with the right people, dated the right boys, did all that. She was happy, really and truly. The only thing was, though, she never did exactly tell people why her parents had divorced- not that anyone asked, having separated parents wasn't quite news to anyone these days- and she had yet to mention why she went away to the South Of France every break. Plus, she'd never had a serious boyfriend. It had been partially, she figured, because she had moved just about the time where girls and boys started to become serious about each other, and she'd spent her first semester so wrapped up in her own self that she hadn't gotten around to getting serious about anyone. And then, when she'd made friends with the Sharkettes, several boys had already been on the do-not-touch list. Jenny had always taken that as gospel, and had avoided all boys that were on said list- which, consequently, was everyone interesting. Now, though, that she was starting to realize that she'd gone her entire life without any meaningful relationships at school, she was starting to wonder how valid the list was.
