ENGLISH

Mrs. Dianne Matejo
class;Freshmen
info; Mrs. Matejo is the new teacher at Dayton Academy. She recently graduated with her master’s from Purdue University in Indiana. Mrs. Matejo is a very easy grader, and she’s a slight pushover. Kids take advantage of her passive-aggressive attitude almost daily. She’s a small, quiet woman who doesn’t ever seem to have much to say.
Mr. Roy Rogers
class;Sophomore/ Junior
info; Sophomore and junior year seem like the hardest for any student, considering they all have to take English. Mr. Rogers has a reputation for having a class you don’t want to take lightly. He grades hard, doesn’t deal well with sleepers, and tends to brag a lot about his life. On the other hand, he’s fun in class and likes to play games or juggle as he lectures. Don’t let yourself get distracted though, or you may fall behind quick.
Mr. Adam Mischler
class;Senior
info; Oh, old Mr. Mischler, how you amuse us. He’s an old man, close to retirement, set on the philosophy that papers don’t mean anything. His class is always fill with debates and conversations about last night’s reading material, and he always makes sure it’s about something good. He’s one of the favourite teachers for his rep of no pop quizzes, easy tests, and only one paper a semester (though it does count toward 20% of your grade!)MATHEMATICS
Mr. David Hurke
class;Algebra I/ Algebra II
info; Notes, notes, and more notes. Mr. Hurke uses powerpoint faster than most can keep up. His algebra course consists entirely of notes and workbook homework. He gives a quiz every Monsay of the lessons gone over the past week, and he isn’t one of the easiest graders. His tests are long, but usually include identical questions from the quizzes. He claims he tries to be easy on the students, but who really looks at their quizzes after they’re don anyway?
Mr. Joe Rodden
class;Algebra I/Algebra II/ Geometry/Broadcasting
info; Mr. Rodden is almost every Junior’s (and some sophomore’s) favourite teacher for one simple reason: his looks. He’s young, only being in his early 30s, single, and still has the physique he had when he graduated from college, and high school according to the old yearbooks in the library! His sense of humor, and ease of discipline also helps him earn popularity points among the student body. He almost acts like one of them.
Mrs. Anne Kimble
class;Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus/Calculus
info; She’s old, on the brink of retirement, and set in her ways. Mrs. Kimble is strict teacher with the always applied “no talking” rule. You raise your hand to ask questions and answer ones, and you never ask to go to the bathroom. Don’t even think about falling asleep, or she’ll give the rest of the class an easy quiz while you’re napping. Mrs. Kimble gives out a ton of homework, but word on the street is you get extra credit easily from helping her grade tests and homework. Maybe she does have a nicer, lazier, side.SCIENCE
Mr. Randy Combs
class;Biology/Physical Education
info; Mr. Combs is the school’s basketball/football/baseball coach. He’s too busy year round to worry about homework much, and his quizzes, tests, and homework are too easy to be considered high school. He spends twenty minutes lecturing in class and the rest of the time for you to do your work. Yeah, right, who does their work during class? He’s also the only teacher who hands out participation points. How do you participate? Show up, stay awake, and keep breathing!
Ms. Joan Kennett
class;Geography/Earth Science/ Intermediate Physics
info; Ms. Kennett used to teach at a private school in Atlanta, Georgia, but in the past few years relocated to New Jersey to teach at Dayton (and escape from the hassles of her ex-husband.) She’s not afraid to be opinionated, and it’s very easy to get her sidetracked. She’s fun, filled with loads of jokes, and doesn’t teacher a lot. Make sure you read your materials, or she’ll leave you behind though.
Mr. John Kimble
class;Chemistry/Chemistry II/Advanced Physics
info; Mr. Kimble shouldn’t be mistaken for Mrs. Kimble’s husband. In fact, he’s her brother-in-law and almost a decade younger than her. He teaches as if he were equally as old though, and people fall asleep in his classes a lot. His voice sometimes comes out monotone, and that doesn’t help. There’s a lot of note taking in his classes, and you better always be prepared for a pop quiz.SOCIAL STUDIES
Mr. Todd Andrews
class;World History/ American History/Physical Education
info; Mr. Andrews graduated from high school in the mid-70s, and he still looks like he’s there. Kid’s love his immature, always stoned, attitude. Though, of course, he doesn’t really act like that outside of the classroom. He does what he can to get kids interested in the subject, but he grades hard. Don’t expect an A out of this class unless you put all your focus in it, or have connections and strings to pull.
Mrs. Laci Olsen
class;American History/Government/Economics
info; She’s a younger teacher, newest after Mrs. Matejo, and is known for playing games in her classroom. Homework is rare, which kids love, but her tests are hard and count for most of your grades. She encourages group work and projects, and has a lot of assigned readings for her classes. The Colored Line for American History, and The World is Flat for Economics.FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Mrs. Dianne Matejo
class;Spanish [I, II, III, IV]
Mrs. Ingetraut Hamrick
class; German [I, II, III, IV]
info; Mrs. Hamrick keeps her students busy with lots of classwork. She’s not one to give out much homework, but there’s always something to be done in German, which can get old if you don’t like the language much. She’s a stickler for working a lot, and tries to help all of her students pass. She’s nice, but sometimes comes off a bit pushy.
Ms. Harrietta Jacobs
class; French [I, II, III, IV]
info; Ms. Jacobs is an older woman, past retirement age who teaches morning classes only. She’s kind, relaxed in class, and friend almost all of her students and colleagues. She’s your generic grandmother-type lady, who still hands out candy for correct answers. She grew up in Luxemburg, and is fluent in French as well as German and English. She’s is a well educated woman, and has her Doctoral, but she still prefers being called Ms. Jacobs unstead of Dr. Jacobs. She believes it sounds friendlier.
Mr. Donnovan Ritchey
class;Latin [I, II] Italian [I, II]
info; Mr. Ritchey Is in charge of the two hardest foreign language classes at Dayton. Not only is the language hard in general, but he grades hard. He’s the Mr. Rogers of non-English. He gives difficult tests, and there’s always a homework assignment, but you grow to respect him. If you make it out of his class passing, you’re sure to know more than enough Italian or Latin.ELECTIVES
Mrs. Danielle Ripley
class; Men’s Chourus/ Women’s Chourus/ Band I/ Band II/ Intro to Drama/ Drama I/Drama II
info; Mrs. Ripley is relaxed and allows her students free will in the classroom, so long as they follow the rules. She’ll write you up and send you to one of the vice principals in a split second if she catches you chewing gum or throwing things. Never miss a performance either, or she won’t hesitate to dock your grade.
Mrs. Theresea Patz
class;Culinary Arts [I, II, III]
info; Mrs. Patz has been teaching at Dayton almost as long as Ms. Jacobs, and it shows in her old school ways of teacher. Naturally, she provides more bookwork than necessary, as assumed by students, but it’s all pretty easy. She never gives out anything hard, and has never once given a pop quiz. You watch a lot of movies in her class, and get to actually start cooking in the level two class.
Mr. Robin Eads
class; Art History [I, II, III, IV] Web Design [I, II, III]
info; Mr. Eads is a perverted old man who quotes too many movies. He enjoys handing out usless rambles he enjoys calling “life lessons,” and he rants too much about the way the world is. Dadaism is his favourite artistic concept, and his room is always dark, design wise, aside from the bright fluorescent lights that he’s forced to keep on. He’s a complainer, but loads of fun if you ever understand his humor.
Mr. Joe Rodden
class;Broadcasting [I, II]
